Released 20 Feb 2020. Beta number is 434.
- Action Code:
- values() once again supports use of a find() type of designator.
- Export:
- The export tag ^url()^ used the extension specified in $HTMLLinkExtension rather than the desired $HTMLExportExtension.
- Find:
- Map view:
- When creating notes, if the selected note was part of a composite, Tinderbox could incorrectly make the new note part of the composite, or create it beneath the composite.
- Adornment OnAdd and OnRemove actions were not always applied, due to an over-enthusiastic drag optimisation.
- When tabbing between title, subtitle and caption of a note that is displaying a text thumbnail, the thumbnail would sometimes be placed above the title when tabbing from caption back to the title. This arose because tabbing to empty fields clears the title cache, and Tinderbox did not always recomputed the title cache value.
- Miscellaneous:
- The text pane of an inactive window now accepts mouse clicks. Previously, the text pane followed the traditional Macintosh behaviour of treating the first click as a request to activate the window. The change is useful when switching between a torn-off Find window, Roadmap, or the inspector, or when moving between documents. When creating notes, if the selected note was part of a composite, Tinderbox could incorrectly make the new note part of the composite, or create it beneath the composite.
- Worked around a new Catalina limitation that prohibits tables from updating themselves.
- The built-in colour schemes now explicitly set $CaptionColor to named colour "blue", with the exception of the Dark Coral scheme which sets $CaptionColor to "lightest blue".
- Additional work on the Action Recycling Pool. Each document now has its own pool, and actions are always recycled on the agent thread; this should prevent some highly-intermittent crashes when Tinderbox is activated from the background.
- Further steps to ameliorate a Catalina crash when Displayed Attributes changes update the Displayed Attributes table.
- Autoscroll is more restrained.
- When editing the name of a note, Tinderbox did not consistently replace the display name with the name.
- OS Dark/Light modes:
- Tinderbox is better at understanding whether it's in light or dark mode when opening new documents, if you have changed appearance settings after opening Tinderbox.
- Outline view:
- Outlines mistakenly allowed space for borders, which disturbed title placement for notes with broad borders.
- Separators with titles are more conservative in estimating the vertical space required for their display names.
- Filtered outline sometimes failed to filter in recent builds.
- Text view:
- If a note is read-only ($ReadOnly is true), Tinderbox now disables editing of Displayed Attributes and removes the Displayed Attributes value menu.
- Read-only Displayed Attributes values are now drawn in a more legible colour when selected and when using dark mode.
