If checked, auto-backup is enabled for all docs (app-level) or the current TBX (doc-level). The latter trumps the former if the two differ; e.g. the app setting may be one but turned off for selected documents via the document-level preferences.
Default: ticked
There is a separate preference for auto-save of open documents.
