The attribute Lock prevents a note or (more usually) an adornment from being inadvertently moved in the map.
If Lock is true, the note can be selected but not repositioned.
The value of Lock may be changed via the Rename command the adornment's contextual menu or in the Note menu - but this is only the case is (a) in a Map via and (b) the adornment is the currently selected object. In the menu, the lock state is indicated by the entry being 'Lock' or 'Unlock'.
A check-box 'Locked' appears in the adornment's dialog window (but not that of a note or agent).
