Mathematical operators

From 4.0.0, actions and rules may now use certain numeric operators. In all cases the argument may be a number or an expression that evaluates as a number.

• log(argument). The operator log() computers the natural logarithm of its argument, which should be a number, a numeric attribute, or an expression that can be interpreted as a number.
• sqrt(argument). sqrt() computes the square root of its argument.
• abs(argument). abs() computes the absolute value of its argument.
• round(argument). round() rounds the value of its argument to the nearest integer.
• rand(argument). rand() returns a pseudo-random number between 0 and 1
• radians(argument). radians() converts its argument, in degrees, to radians.
• sin(argument). sin() converts its argument, in radians, to the sine of that value.
• cos(argument). cos() converts its argument, in radians, to the cosine of that value.
• tan(argument). tan() converts its argument, in radians, to the tangent of that value.
• atan(argument). atan() converts its argument, in radians, to the arctangent of that value.

For example

Width=5+log($WordCount);

Datum=2*cos(radians($Angle));

Another operator was added in v4.0.1:

• mod(a,b). mod() returns a modulo b, i.e. the integer remainder of a/b. Thus mod(11,3) is 2.
