Lock

The attribute Lock prevents a note or (more usually) an adornment from being inadvertently moved in the map.

If Lock is true, the note can be selected but not repositioned.

For new adornments, Lock state (default: unlocked) can be set via a check-box 'Locked' that appears in the Create Adornment dialog. (Note that the similar dialog for notes and agents lacks such a tick-box).

The value of Lock may be changed via:

the Rename command of the adornment's contextual menu.
the note or adornment's Info View (Locked in is the Map group of attributes)
in the Note menu. For Adornments (only) this additionally requires that the current view is a Map view and that the adornment is the currently selected object. In the menu, the lock state is indicated by the entry toggling being 'Lock' or 'Unlock'.

A drag (marquee) select in Map views ignores locked adornments.
